Zac Efron made some childhood dreams come true yesterday. Joining up with Gifts.com, the High School Musical brought presents and signed autographs for the many sick children at the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA in Los Angeles. With no movies to promote or a new album scheduled to drop, Zac made the unexpected trip to the hospital out of the goodness of his pretty little heart. More Photos after the jump…
Greasy haired Zac Efron (really needs a wash and a haircut) chills out at a Laker’s Game with Vanessa Hudgens…
^the dude sitting next to Zac is awkward to look at.
Do you think Zac always looks like he wants out of the relationship when he’s photographed? That’s what I hear a lot of people saying…
In Touch – In a revealing sit-down with Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, Vanessa Hudgens spilled some secrets about her heartthrob beau, Zac Efron. So what does Zac eat for breakfast? He’s “more of an eggs kind of guy,” says Vanessa. “If he’s feeling lazy he just drinks them. Not most of the time, but every now and then.” She also has a preference for Zac’s hair: “I like it back.” To which Ellen responded, “You like it back with a lot of gel and stuff in it. Doesn’t it feel icky in your hands?” According to Vanessa, “It’s kind of solid.” But she was less forthcoming about whether Zac’s a good kisser. “Yes, [he’s] fine — we kiss in the movie,” she admitted, talking about High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which opens today. Guess Vanessa’s learned not to kiss and tell!
It’s not a pirate’s life for Zac Efron – at least not yet. Despite reports to the contrary, the High School Musical 3: Senior Year star says he has no confirmed plans to follow Orlando Bloom as the young knave in Johnny Depp’s shadow in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
“Honestly, at this time it’s just a rumor,” Efron told Ryan Seacrest on the American Idol host’s radio show on Wednesday. “I wish I was going to be in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, so hopefully that will happen for me.”One thing Efron wouldn’t discuss with Seacrest is his ongoing romance with HSM co-star Vanessa Hudgens. “Dude, honestly, I don’t talk about it,” Efron said. “It’s just easier.”
Is pretty boy Zac Efron ready to get his coiffure ruffled? By the likes of screen drool machine Johnny Depp. Phew, we’re blushing at the thought of this. See, High School Musical (HSM) star Zac has reportedly signed a whopping £6m deal to star in the fourth instalment of Pirates Of The Caribbean. It’s believed the deal also includes Zac doing a fourth HSM movie and there are rumours of him starring in a remake of the Kevin Bacon classic Footloose, says The Sun. Johnny will also be cashing in as it’s believed he’ll earn well over £30m to make the next Pirates movie.
Gulp.
A source has told The Sun: “Zac was extremely interested. “But Disney realised they couldn’t make the fourth Pirates movie without Johnny. They had to offer him a small fortune to do it.” We bet.
Gossip Girl – Fresh off of the big Los Angeles premiere of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” Zac Efron and friends headed out in Hollywood to ring in his 21st birthday on Saturday night (October 18). Starting off at Pace nightclub, fellow partygoers included Zac’s co-star girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, along with pals Monique Coleman, Ashley Tisdale, Jared Murillo, Brittany Snow, Amanda Bynes, Aly and AJ Michalka and Michelle Trachtenberg.
One of Zac’s Gifts
While most guests were spotted upon arrival, dropping off bottles of hard liquor as gifts to their now-legal friend, Efron and Hudgens stayed covered up, not wanting to be seen. After Pace, Zanessa then headed over to Chateau Marmont with Aly and AJ. Funnily enough, the only person showing up at Chateau that was 21 was Zac, as Aly is 19, AJ 17, and Vanessa 19.

EOnline – Quelle scandale! – While hometown Wildcats fans are waiting until next Friday to see High School Musical 3: Senior Year, audiences in France—France!—get the movie on Wednesday. Wednesday! A dastardly plot by Old Europe to have Zac Efron all to itself—at least for 48 hours?
Uh, no. For one thing, says Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, movies in France traditionally open on Wednesdays, not Fridays. For another thing, Troy Bolton is dreamy in any language. Yes, the HSM franchise, that all-American saga of young love, basketball and jazz hands, just so happens to have a fanatical following overseas. “The music and the dancing really does travel,” Zoradi says. “Music tends to travel really, really well.” And so do the HSM stars, as they and the paparazzi who worked their recent red carpet premieres in Europe could attest. “The response was just fantastic,” Zoradi says. “It was equal to what we’ve seen in the U.S. here.”
Indeed, the first two HSM movies, both produced for and aired on cable, were watched by a combined 550.7 million worldwide, per Disney Channel stats. Viewers in the U.S. only made up about 20 percent of that audience, compared to 35 percent for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Next weekend, HSM3 will make its theatrical debut in more than 20 countries. Like France, the United Kingdom and Scandanavia will be treated to Wednesday launches. Americans, take heart. The HSM3 crew was back in the continental home of East High for last night’s Hollywood premiere. France may get to experience Efron and company on the big screen earlier, but the States gets them forever. Until they take off for Japan in about a week or so.
Original Footloose star Kevin Bacon has given Zac Efron his seal of approval to take on his role in a remake of the 1984 movie. Rumours abound suggesting High School Musical director Kenny Ortega will re-team with Efron for an updated version of the musical romantic drama for Paramount studios.
OK Mag – Ortega recently fuelled reports by admitting there’s “a real good chance that this may be a movie”. And now Bacon has given Efron his blessing to reprise the role of Ren McCormack. He tells London radio station Heart FM, “I met Zac briefly at an event… and we talked… only briefly… but he seemed like a really nice kid and I really do wish him all the best with it.”
Meanwhile…
No Equus For Zac Efron
While rumors have been swirling that Disney star Zac Efron had been approached to replace Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway play Equus, the High School Musical star says that’s simply untrue. “No,” he said when asked by reporters at a High School Musical 3: Senior Year press conference on Sunday. “I think it’s a great role but I was not approached.” The original report by The Sun on Friday said that Zac had dropped a few juicy hints about taking over the part of Alan Strang in the play about a boy’s love for a horse. “You know that Daniel Radcliffe role on Broadway, well it’s been mentioned,” the paper quoted him as saying. Although he won’t be stripping down on stage any time soon, Zac does think he needs to branch out to different genres in his career. “I think it’s important to always diversify, change it up and play different characters,” he says. “I think doing musicals all the time would get stale.” Zac recently finished filming Me and Orson Welles, and fans are already hopeful that he’ll sign on to play Kevin Bacon’s character, Ren McCormack, in a remake of 1984’s Footloose.
