ICYDK – Say what you will about Rihanna, but the woman doesn’t do things halfheartedly. Last night, the Rated R singer headed to NYC tattoo parlor East Side Ink — one of her favorites — and had her personal motto etched indelibly into her skin forever.

“She came in at about 2:00 A.M.,” East Side Ink owner and artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy tells OK! exclusively. “She told me in advance she’d be coming, and then when she got there, she told me what she wanted: ‘Never a failure, always a lesson,’ but written backwards.”

Spies tell the NY Daily News that RiRi is dating actor Tristan Wilds, from “90210″. He was an unexpected guest at a party she held over the weekend at her L.A. home, where she was saying goodbye to pals before taking off for a set of London gigs. A guest says, “No one knew why Tristan was there initially, because it was not an industry party — it was very intimate. But everyone quickly realized they weren’t meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see.” The 20-year-old actor has also starred in “The Wire” and Jay-Z’s “Roc Boys” music video. They were introduced by a music producer who has worked with both of them — Wilds is currently working on an album of his own. They hit it off the moment they laid eyes on each other, the insider says. A source says, “He’s a real gentleman. She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up.” “They’ll keep in touch while she’s away. They’re already planning to use iChat and Skype to stay in contact until Tristan finishes shooting ‘90210′ for the season and can fly out to meet her on the road.”

The first interview with Rihanna about Chris Brown’s assault on her is airing this week on ABC.

The network says the pop star’s one-on-one with Diane Sawyer will air Thursday and Friday on “Good Morning America” and Friday evening on the news magazine “20/20.”

Brown’s attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna occurred in February. He was sentenced in August to five years’ probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pleaded guilty to felony assault.

Rihanna’s ABC interview coincides with the debut of her new single, “Russian Roulette,” from her upcoming album, “Rated R.” It’s her first CD since 2007’s multiplatinum “Good Girl Gone Bad.” – AP
