Rihanna is getting into movie mode. She’s been tapped to play a dominatrix alongside Samuel L. Jackson in “The Red Dragron”, a redo of a 1985 film about a boy’s quest to become a top martial artists. The pop star has been told to fully research her role ahead of shooting and is contemplating spending time at a fetish club for inspiration.

Matt Kemp was asked about the buzz over his Baja trip, with singer Rihanna. The L.A. Dodger replied, “I can’t get distracted by that. My job is to get my work in, which I’ve been doing. Nothing distracts me from my job, not the contract, or my personal life. When it’s time to play baseball, that’s my job. No distractions.” Kemp said Rihanna is “just a friend,” that he wasn’t expecting the international fallout triggered by the Cabo road trip, but accepts it.
He said, “That wasn’t the plan. She’s just a friend, a good friend of mine and we went down to Mexico and had fun together. “I didn’t think all that would come out of it, it just happened. I’m not used to that much attention to my personal life. It’s really not that big a deal. But in L.A., doing things here, you’re under a microscope, they’re examining everything you’re doing. It’s L.A., man, the city we live in. It is what it is. Can’t control what happens.”

hollywoodlife.com – It’s a new year, which means a fresh start. Pop star Rihanna is putting her boy drama of 2009 behind her and moving on with a new man — LA Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp — and it looks more and more like the real thing.

Things are seriously starting to heat up for the two, says a source close to the songbird. In fact, Oklahoma-native Matt, 25, followed Rihanna, 21, to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where she performed at the Emirates Palace on New Years Eve.

ICYDK – Say what you will about Rihanna, but the woman doesn’t do things halfheartedly. Last night, the Rated R singer headed to NYC tattoo parlor East Side Ink — one of her favorites — and had her personal motto etched indelibly into her skin forever.

“She came in at about 2:00 A.M.,” East Side Ink owner and artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy tells OK! exclusively. “She told me in advance she’d be coming, and then when she got there, she told me what she wanted: ‘Never a failure, always a lesson,’ but written backwards.”

Spies tell the NY Daily News that RiRi is dating actor Tristan Wilds, from “90210″. He was an unexpected guest at a party she held over the weekend at her L.A. home, where she was saying goodbye to pals before taking off for a set of London gigs. A guest says, “No one knew why Tristan was there initially, because it was not an industry party — it was very intimate. But everyone quickly realized they weren’t meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see.” The 20-year-old actor has also starred in “The Wire” and Jay-Z’s “Roc Boys” music video. They were introduced by a music producer who has worked with both of them — Wilds is currently working on an album of his own. They hit it off the moment they laid eyes on each other, the insider says. A source says, “He’s a real gentleman. She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up.” “They’ll keep in touch while she’s away. They’re already planning to use iChat and Skype to stay in contact until Tristan finishes shooting ‘90210′ for the season and can fly out to meet her on the road.”

Rihanna missed last year’s Grammy Awards because of her brawl with Chris Brown but she will be at the next one. And she’ll also appear on a special to celebrate the 2010 Grammy nominees. Rihanna will appear on “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night”. It airs December 2nd at 8 pm on CBS. The live one-hour show will be broadcast from Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Nominations will also be announced for the 52nd annual show and there will also be performances by past Grammy winners and/or nominees.

ABC – Pop sensation Rihanna is speaking out about the night her then-boyfriend Chris Brown beat her, saying it was “humiliating” and “traumatizing” to admit the assault took place and that it was “wrong” that she went back to Brown afterwards.
Pop star speaks out about the night her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown attacked her.”It was a wake-up call. It was a wake-up call for me. Big time,” Rihanna told “Good Morning America” co-anchor Diane Sawyer in her first television interview discussing the assault. “I will say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence, don’t react off of love. F love. Come out of the situation and look at it in the third person and for what it really is.”

The first interview with Rihanna about Chris Brown’s assault on her is airing this week on ABC.
The network says the pop star’s one-on-one with Diane Sawyer will air Thursday and Friday on “Good Morning America” and Friday evening on the news magazine “20/20.”
Brown’s attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna occurred in February. He was sentenced in August to five years’ probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pleaded guilty to felony assault.
Rihanna’s ABC interview coincides with the debut of her new single, “Russian Roulette,” from her upcoming album, “Rated R.” It’s her first CD since 2007’s multiplatinum “Good Girl Gone Bad.” – AP
