Singer/songwriter Lionel Richie wants his pop star pals to sing at his daughter Nicole’s wedding. He is planning to invite musicians to perform at Nicole and her fiance Joel Madden’s reception. A source told Heat magazine: “All of the biggest names in music are getting an invite. Lionel is asking some to sing. He wants the reception to be a big concert.” Expected to attend are Tina Turner, Rihanna, 50 Cent and Leona Lewis. 60-year-old Lionel intends to serenade the newlyweds himself. Nicole and Joel have two children, two-year-old daughter Harlow and six-month-old son Sparrow.

The Hurt Locker Takes Home 6 Oscars out of 9 Nominations, including Best Picture and Director
- Kathryn Bigelow has won the best-director Academy Award for her Iraq War thriller “The Hurt Locker.” The film also took home Best Picture, defeating the nights other big contender for that award, “Avatar.”

Bigelow is the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscars to earn Hollywood’s top prize for filmmakers. Among those Bigelow beat are ex-husband James Cameron, the best-director winner for 1997’s “Titanic” who was nominated this time for his sci-fi spectacle “Avatar.” Bigelow and Cameron were married from 1989-91.
Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges have won the lead-acting honors at the Academy Awards. Bullock won for her role as a wealthy woman who takes in a homeless future NFL star in “The Blind Side.” Bridges won best-actor for his turn as a boozy country singer trying to clean up his act in “Crazy Heart.” The Oscar marks a career peak for Bridges, a beloved Hollywood veteran who had been nominated four times in the previous 38 years without winning.
Also an industry darling, Bullock won with her first nomination. The night before the Oscars, Bullock also won the year’s worst-actress prize at the Razzies for “All About Steve.”
Supporting-acting Oscars went to Mo’Nique for “Precious” and Christoph Waltz for “Inglourious Basterds.”

Nicole made the announcement on an episode of David Letterman which is set to air on Friday. Photographers snapped the celeb showing off her ring. Fiancee Joel Madden tweeted “Yep, Im engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so you’re kind of late on that. But, thanks for the hoopla all the same.” Nicole and Joel share two kids together, Harlow, 2 and, Sparrow, 5 months.

Star – Good news for the Richie-Madden family: Mommy Nicole has been released from the hospital after being treated for pneumonia.
“All is well and we are home with no problems,” Joel wrote on the Good Charlotte web site on Friday. The rocker returned from a trip to Australia and has been tending to Nicole at Ceders Sinai hospital since he got home.
“I was supposed to go into the studio a finish the last few vocals for the record, but that had to wait,” Joel added. “Family first.”
No word from Nicole yet but the Twitter fan — and mom of Harlow and Sparrow — will hopefully be back online soon!
