Conan reportedly fought hard to keep it together on a teary eyed final show. “Despite this sense of loss, I believe this should be a happy moment,” he said from the chair that once belonged to Johnny Carson. “Every comedian dreams of hosting ‘The Tonight Show,’ and for seven months, I got to do it my way with people I love. I do not regret one second of anything that we’ve done here.”

Leonardo DiCaprio was so impressed with the script for Robert Ludlum’s The Chancellor Manuscript, he’s signed on for the political thriller. In the film, he’ll play Peter Chancellor, who writes a novel about D.C. powerbrokers only to find out that the plot may possibly be a real life scheme. Meanwhile, DiCaprio, who was recently spotted partying with cast members of MTVs The Jersey Shore, is getting ready to promote his next two studio release – the upcoming Shutter Island based on the novel by Mystic River author Dennis Lehane. DiCaprio stars as an US Marshal ivestigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane. The film has faced a number of production delays including bad weather which plagued the set during its shooting in upstate New York. The film will finally hit theaters on February 19. His other film Inception co-starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a gobe trotting spy movie in the mystery/science fiction category that director Christopher Nolan calls ‘expansive’. Filming details for Inception were hush hush, but the expensive production promises amazing backdrops. The futuristic thriller was shot on location around the world including Paris, London and Morocco

Mel Gibson will direct and Leonardo DiCaprio will star in an untitled period drama set in the world of Viking culture. William Monahan is writing the script.
Graham King will produce with Gibson and Tim Headington in a co-production between King’s GK Films and Gibson’s Icon Productions. Shooting is expected to begin fall, 2010, meaning that if everything falls into place, it would be the next directing effort for Gibson.
There is no distributor at the moment, but Gibson and King often make their films outside the studio system and secure distribution later.
The principals confirmed the project but would not divulge many details. DiCaprio, who has long been fascinated by Viking culture, will play one in a storyline that will be as unsparing as Gibson’s other period directing efforts “Braveheart,” “The Passion of the Christ” and “Apocalypto.”
The connective tissue is King.
The producer teamed with DiCaprio and Monahan in the Oscar-winning drama “The Departed,” and just worked with Gibson and Monahan in the Martin Campbell-directed drama “Edge of Darkness.” King also just produced Monahan’s directorial debut, “London Boulevard,” the Monahan-scripted adaptation of the Ken Bruen novel, with Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley starring.

Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted spending $1,400 on beauty products at Los Angeles’ Blue Mercury store on his birthday (November 11). Leo browsed the store, reportedly loading up on moisturizers, facemasks, soaps, toners, eye creams and anti-wrinkle lotions. And while his publicist says the beauty products were a gift for someone else, one shopper says, “Leonardo asked a lot of questions and seemed to be most concerned about wrinkle creams.” The 35-year-old hunk is reportedly taking extra care of his appearance for his upcoming role in the film Inception. An insider told RadarOnline: “He is following a strict diet and is embarking on a rigorous workout regime. Leonardo is a pretty determined kind of guy and when he sets his mind to things he always achieves them. Though this is going to be hard for him, you can guarantee he’ll succeed.” Inception is scheduled for a 2010 release.

AP - Court records show a lawsuit filed against Leonardo DiCaprio by his neighbors over a basketball court has been dismissed.
Lawyers for the “Titanic” and “The Departed” star and a neighboring couple have been trying to resolve the case for months. A dismissal of the entire case was entered last week. Court records do not spell out the terms of any settlement.
The couple sued DiCaprio in May 2007, claiming their Hollywood Hills property was illegally excavated and some plants were removed so the actor could have a basketball court built at his rented home in 2004.
The case grew to include several construction firms, who have also been dismissed.

Page Six – A TRIP to a Japanese temple left Leonardo DiCaprio barefoot after ugly American tourists stole the star’s sneakers. During a visit to a hilltop shrine in Kyoto last week, DiCaprio was asked by a couple of fans to pose for a picture — but he declined, pointing to a sign prohibiting photography on the premises. Feeling slighted, the fans waited until he removed his Nike Dunks to enter the temple and then stole them. “They just ran off with them,” laughed our source. “The poor guy had to leave the place barefoot.” A rep for Leo had no comment.

On-again off-again couple Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli have called it quits once more, sources confirm to PEOPLE.”They’re taking time off for the time being, they’ve split,” says a source. “It could just end up as a break but for now they’re doing their own thing.”That much was certainly apparent over the weekend as the Israeli-born Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, 23, walked the red carpet at Hollywood Life’s 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards solo, refusing to speak about DiCaprio.The previous weekend, the Titanic star, 34, hit the hotspot Avenue in New York City, where he was seen chatting with another woman.
“He was standing at the bar in front of everyone talking to a girl the entire night – and it wasn’t Bar,” says one onlooker of the May 30 encounter. “It was in no way behavior for a guy who has a serious girlfriend.”DiCaprio and Refaeli were then reportedly photographed together in Los Angeles on June 8.According to a Refaeli source, the model’s desire to get serious may have caused the actor to have doubts about their relationship. “She wanted to move faster than he did, she wanted to move in together,” the source says, “so he broke it off.”
