Today, on a beautiful sunny day in Washington, President Barack Obama took full advantage of the weather and stepped into his golfing shoes to play a round at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.  Motorcade and all, the President shook hands with some golfers and waved to onlookers before hopping on a golf cart that was driven by Mike Thomas, the General Manager of the golf course.  The President was joined by Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and presidential aide Marvin Nicholson.  Article at Golf.com

Fox News – Jennifer Aniston, one of our favorite people, is coming to New York. She’s filming two movies back to back in our fair city, and my guess is she’s not unhappy about it. Boyfriend John Mayer lives here. Aniston and Mayer spent a big part of last night’s Vanity Fair Oscar party hanging out with two other New Yorkers, Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld, in an ante room at the Sunset Towers Hotel. They watched a tape of the Oscar show on a monitor and chatted with designer Narciso Rodriguez and photographer Kevin Mazur.

Jennifer is fairly stoked about her New York visit, and why not: she’s arriving just as the weather gets great. She’s also got just enough of an ironic sense of humor to make New York her home. Aniston has terrific comic timing. On last night’s Oscar show, she managed to not only keep up with Jack Black during their presentation, but outdo him. Her “Sorry, Mr. Katzenberg” line was not scripted. Aniston can take lemons and make them into comic lemonade. Good for her. And just a PS to the US Weekly crowd, concerning the stuff I get a kick out of regarding who’s dating who or breaking up: from what I could tell, Aniston and Mayer seem very nice together, warm and relaxed. Will they marry? I don’t know and don’t really care. But they are a pleasant, fun couple. These days, that’s an achievement!

Barack Obama, has been portrayed as Superman on a poster in Los Angeles. In hope that he can save the World like the character does, he is shown wearing the famous blue costume with the yellow and red logo on the front. The American flag forms the background of the poster which was displayed on a pillar in West Hollywood, LA.

2008… When a Man becomes a fish-eight times

The Page –  Obama and top aides plan to hit the road shortly after the inauguration to push for the massive spending plan. LA Times: Obama “will quickly strive to shape public opinion, casting the substantial stimulus package as crucial to the nation’s recovery.”

Top aide Axelrod: “We’ll fan out, and this will be a public process.” Obama “wants the American people involved in this discussion.”

President-elect Barack Obama is preparing to lead a full-scale marketing blitz to pass the massive new stimulus package that he says is needed to revive the slumping economy and put the nation on the course he laid out during his campaign. Obama will move to Washington this weekend, checking into a hotel with his family. In the remaining weeks of the transition, and after he is sworn in, he will use the bully pulpit to make the case for passage of a stimulus package of up to $775 billion, an aide said.

PRESIDENTIAL LANDSLIDE

((Letter to imaginary dad)

Tense Moments before Barack Obama captured the most votes in the history of Presidential Elections, and became the first black President of the United States of america. 11 Million more people came out to vote in this election then the previous election. Barack Obama dominated in votes across the board from minorities, conservatives, young voters, woman and more white male voters than Al Gore back in 2004 (when Al Gore took the popular vote) Nearly all major battleground states including Virginia, Indiana, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania…Just one day after his election, he, along with support from George W. Bush, formed a White House transition team to smooth the handling of our nations government between administrations.  Just two days into his first term, he gave a press conference calling for a global effort to stabilize the ‘economy in crisis’ and promote job growth – 10 million Green jobs.

To say that music and musicians have been an integral part of the 2008 Obama presidential campaign would be an understatement. In addition to obvious efforts like will.i.am’s “Yes We Can” song and video, many people may not be aware that in collaboration with the Obama campaign, Steve McKeever and his team at Hidden Beach Records put together the first-ever official political soundtrack album.  This unprecedented compilation album had the overwhelming support and participation of many superstar recording artists spanning all genres of music such as John Legend, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Ritchie, Kanye West, Bebe Winans and Dave Stewart and more. There were so many great submissions, over 150 songs in a one week time, that the label and the campaign had a very tough time deciding what to finally include on the album. It was originally produced as a fundraiser for the Obama campaign, but it was unfortunately released just after the anti-Obama “celebrity” campaign launched and as the financial crisis was hitting. So at the time the album did not receive the attention it deserved. With the campaign now behind us, this musical cry for “Change” can now be enjoyed as a celebration of President-elect Obama and cherished by future generations as a memento of his historic candidacy.

By clicking on the MagNet player below, for the first time you can sample – and buy – the album right here on the Huffington Post. And if you buy the album here, you will also get a bonus track not previously available which is exclusive to the Huffington Post edition. It’s a new song called “Obama Rock” by The Not So Silent Majority, a collective of musicians and artists including Danielle Brisebois (writer/producer of Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” and “Pocketful Of Sunshine”, Paul McCartney’s guitarist Rusty Anderson, Rick Nowels (writer of Dido’s “White Flag”) and Gregg Alexander (writer of Santana’s “Game Of Love” and New Radicals’ “You Get What You Give”) as well as many other musicians. Hidden Beach is planning on releasing an Obama Soundtrack Vol. 2 in the new future with a lot of the great music that they wanted to put on this album so stay tuned. In the meantime, enjoy!
