Ellen DeGeneres has been having a busty week.
For one thing, she began shooting American Idol for the first time as Idol judge #4 today. And she still has a daytime talk show she must attend to. The move to bring Ellen Degeneres to American Idol could yield a very beneficial audience crossover between the two shows, with curious viewers from Ellen’s daytime show tuning into Idol for the first time, and vice versa.
Unfamiliar American Idol fans will now be introduced to Ellen, and may begin to check out her daytime chatfest.

Access Hollywood – Ellen DeGeneres has reacted to the news that Oprah Winfrey will announce on Friday that she will end her network television talk show in 2011.
In a clip released on EllenTV.com, Ellen revealed that Oprah herself shared the news with her fellow talk show host on Thursday afternoon.
“Right before I came out here, I got a call from Oprah and she told me that she is announcing that next year will be her last year,” Ellen revealed to her audience on Thursday, following a taping of her show. “It will be her 25th year and she feels like it’s time for her to stop.”
Ellen credited Oprah for opening up the market and allowing talk show hosts like herself to make it.
“I don’t think I could be here without her. I think she has blazed a trail,” Ellen said. “She is an amazing woman. She will always be the Queen of daytime television and she also said she is leaving me all of her money. I was like, thanks Oprah, thank you.”
Ellen said she has fond memories of her recent O Magazine cover shoot with Oprah and she can’t wait to see what happens with Lady O in the future.
“She is an amazing woman. I love her and we’ve gotten very close over this ridiculous idea that I had of getting on the cover of O — a silly dream… And now we talk all the time and she is fantastic and I love her and I wish her the best,” Ellen told her audience. “She deserves to rest. She has worked really, really hard.”

PEOPLE – Perhaps it’s because she recently tied the knot herself, but Ellen DeGeneres seemed to be in a romantic mood while interviewing Ryan Seacrest for Monday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show.The new bride, 50, presses Seacrest, 33, on why he can’t seem to find love, according to excerpts of the show. On a helpful note, she comes up with a suggested date – Eva Mendes – and even offers to set him up with the actress.
“I want to know what love is?” says Seacrest, who at the end of last year told PEOPLE his goal for 2008 was to make time for a personal life. When he protests that he’s still too busy, Seacrest is warned by DeGeneres, “You’re going to wait too long and get in a rut being single. It’s going to be hard to open up and share your life with somebody, because you have your way of doing things. You have to let go and be with someone. You’re a great guy. You’re funny, you’re smart …”
“You’re calling me old,” interjects Seacrest. “You’re getting old,” agrees DeGeneres. That’s when she takes out some photos to show him. “They don’t know about this,” she says of the possible love interests she places before Seacrest, “but just as an idea of who would you choose out of these woman right here.” Among the photos, besides Mendes’s, are those of Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Aniston.
Goes Right to Eva
“You have Eva,” points out Seacrest. “She’s gorgeous, and Jennifer is great, too.” “You’re saying Eva Mendes, who you go to right away,” notes DeGeneres. “Yeah, I kind of went there first,” says Seacrest. “I like Carrie, but then I kind of feel like she is part of Idol thing, so I don’t l know if that’s the right thing to do, to think about her in that way.” Examining Spears’s photo, he says, “She looks like the sister (Jamie Lynn) there, because I was going to say she’s young and obviously there’s enough going on, and that’s not for me.” As for Aniston, “I don’t know Jennifer,” says Seacrest. Which brings DeGeneres back to Mendes. “I think she’s great,” concurs Seacrest. “What’s she like?” “She’s great,” says DeGeneres. “Would you like me to set you up with her?” He says, “Yeah.” She says, “Okay.”

Newlyweds Portia De Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres upset a host of celebrity pals by uninviting them to their summer nuptials
DeGeneres has revealed the couple had originally planned to turn their big day into a star-studded affair, but the pair scaled back when word leaked about the ceremony. The comedienne instructed wedding planner Mindy Weiss to alert friends the wedding would no longer be a big bash, and the couple instead wed at their home, surrounded only by family and close friends. DeGeneres says, “We had 150, 200 people originally, we were gonna do a huge wedding and then at the last minute, we called her (Weiss) and said, ‘Please call and uninvite everybody because we just can’t do it; it’s too stressful.’”

But the decision left some pals upset – because they thought they had been snubbed.
