“The Sarah Silverman Program” has been renewed for a third season, Comedy Central said Wednesday. The announcement was made by Lauren Corrao, president of original programming and development for Comedy Central. The third season of “The Sarah Silverman Program” is to premiere 10 episodes in the first quarter of 2010.

MTV Network sister channel, Logo, will get a second window to the series after it premieres on Comedy Central, the network said.”We love Sarah and we love this show — we’re thrilled it’s returning for a third season,” Corrao said in a statement. “‘The Sarah Silverman Program’ is truly a brand-builder for our network and by using the synergy within the MTV Networks, the second window deal with Logo allows us to broaden the show to an audience that will only expand the popularity of this hit series. We are excited to see what trouble Sarah and her friends get into in the next season.”"Yay!” added Silverman.”Sarah Silverman has created an incredibly inventive and comedically revolutionary show that is beloved by the gay and lesbian audience. Expanding the third season run to Logo is a natural extension that we’re thrilled is happening,” said Brian Graden, president of MTV Networks Music Group Entertainment and president of Logo.

After 5 years together, Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman have broken up, reps for the newly minted ex-couple confirmed to Vanity Fair today. “Jimmy and Sarah have and will have no further comment,” said a joint statement. Confessions of involvement with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck apparently didn’t lead to the split of the talk-show host and actress.
