Nick Jonas Announces Tour for New Band

Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and his new band Nick Jonas & The Administration announced their first tour, which starts January 2nd, 2010. It wraps up January 30th. The intimate shows will be part of a promotional tour for the band’s debut set, “Who I Am”, which drops February 2nd. Tickets go on sale Saturday. Nick Jonas & The Administration will perform on the Grammy Nominations Concert Live! Special tomorrow on CBS at 9PM. Nick said: “With this tour we’re going to try to accomplish the same thing we did in the studio. That’s capturing some heart and soul in the music, and having fun doing it.”

Nick Jonas forces Jonas Brothers to Cancel Concert

Angry Ape – The Jonas Brothers have cancelled a concert in Switzerland tonight (November 7), because Nick Jonas is ill.

The band have now issued a statement explaining why the show was axed. It reads: “We are sad to announce the cancellation of the Jonas Brothers concert for this evening in Zurich.”

“Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers is ill with an upper respiratory infection of the nose and throat and the doctor has advised that he not speak or sing.”

“This is the first time that the Jonas Brothers have ever cancelled a show for sickness and deeply regret that they will not be able to perform as a group tonight.”

“The band, the management, and the promoter apologize that the show must be cancelled on such short notice.”

“We will do everything we can to revisit Zurich in the future and perform for our wonderful fans. Tickets can be refunded as of Monday, 9 November until 31 December 2009 at the presale agency.”

Nick Jonas Explains Why He’s Releasing an Album without the other Jonas Brothers

Nick Jonas finally explained why he chose to record a solo album without his brothers Kevin and Joe. Nick said: “About six months ago, the three of us had a two-week break from touring, and we all decided to go and do something that was on our hearts. Joe went on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. Kevin spent some time with his fiancé. I decided to go and make a side-project with four musicians that I had met and worked with before.” “I would say the album is ‘heart and soul’, because the music that I make is from my heart, and the lyrics I write are from my soul. My brothers and I couldn’t be more excited to have these amazing opportunities as a group, and as individuals. We are already planning another world tour as the Jonas Brothers next summer, and it is all thanks to our amazing fans.” Nick’s band is called Nick Jonas & The Administration and their debut set is due out in early 2010.

Jonas Brothers not splitting up despite solo Nick Jonas project.

WENN – THE JONAS BROTHERS have reached out to their fans to insist they are “not breaking up” following news of NICK JONAS’ plans.
The siblings’ mother Denise Jones revealed her youngest superstar son has been working on a side-project away from the group, entitled Nick Jonas and The Administration.
The announcement sent Jonas devotees into a spin over fears the solo work could lead to the trio going their separate ways.
But the brothers have taken to their official website to assure fans they have no intention of splitting – saying “a three chord strand is not easily broken”.
On the blog, Nick Jonas writes, “We’ve said from the beginning of our career as the Jonas Brothers that anything we do outside of the group is a side project because you can’t break up brothers. My brothers are my biggest supporters, and were on the phone with me every day while I was in the studio asking how it was going, and telling me they couldn’t wait to hear the record.”

Nick Jonas Heads to DC to Raise Diabetes Awareness…

On August 24th, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will talk about living with diabetes at a National Press Club luncheon in Washington DC. Nick was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 13. He tests his blood sugar more than 10 times a day and also made a personal commitment to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes. In June, Nick testified before Congress to ask for support for diabetes research funding. He also wrote the song “A Little Bit Longer” to inspire people with diabetes to live their lives to the fullest.

Nick Jonas has confirmed that one of his new songs was written about a real-life relationship, but he’s not saying if that relationship was the one he had with Miley Cyrus. 16-year-old Nick said that the song “WWIII” from The Jonas Brothers’ upcoming album “Lines, Vines And Trying Times” was about a previous girlfriend that could very well be Miley. Nick said: “I wrote it out of personal experience. It was about this relationship. This person kept on fighting and making out like it was World War III when it was really a one-sided battle. It was just them coming at you, and you don’t really have any problem.”

mtv.com - Teen stars and former flames Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas also got together for lunch weekend in Los Angeles. Video cameras caught Jonas and Cyrus on their way out from lunch, including an inconspicuous and illegal hit and run fender bender on their way out!

In the clip, the stars get into Jonas’ Mustang Cobra in an alley. The car turns onto the street, scraping an SUV in the process. Despite apparently knocking off part of the other vehicle’s bumper, Jonas keeps driving. So much for a quiet getaway!

Selena Gomez Says She’s ‘Getting to Know’ Nick Jonas

Selena Gomez is speaking out about her relationship with Nick Jonas – sort of.

The Wizards of Waverly Place actress, who has been rumored to be dating the Jonas Brothers star, addresses the rumors in the upcoming issue of TV Guide.

“I’ve gotten really close to the entire Jonas family this past year,” she tells the magazine. “Nick and I are getting to know each other, but we’re not confirming anything.”

Gomez, 16, also says that “there’s no feud” between her and fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus. The YouTube video that sparked the rumors, “was completely blown out of proportion. That video was ages ago, and it’s so irrelevant and not important to everything else going on.”

And don’t expect her to be a perfect role model to her Disney fans. “I’m going to do the best that I can do, but I am 16 and I am going to make mistakes – no one’s perfect.”

While it’s true that no one is perfect, Gomez does look up to one actor: Transformers star Shia LaBeouf.

“I’ve had a crush on him ever since he was on Even Stevens,” Gomez admits. “It’s very far-fetched, but I would love to have Shia on Wizards.”

A Peek at Celebrities Invited to Miley Cyrus’ Sweet 16

It was only hours before Miley Cyrus kicked off her “Sweet 16 – Share the Celebration” Sunday, October 5 and amidst preparations for the bash, Los Angeles Times had a peek on the fellow celebrities who were invited to show up at the event. Among those on the list were her singer father Billy Ray Cyrus, best friend Emily Osment, and fellow Disney star Demi Lovato.

Cody Linley, who has boasted on getting her support for his upcoming appearance on the “Dancing with the Stars,” was also invited. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kobe Bryant, and Steve Carell were among the 25 years and over guests. Besides them all, Miley also invited fellow “High School Musical” cast Kaycee Stroh and Matt Prokop, the Los Angeles Times reports.

In related news, Billy Ray was claimed to be joining his famous daughter on-stage for a performance at the star-studded party. However, there has yet conformation on the song that the father-daughter duo will sing.

Miley herself was photographed having a shopping excursion with a female friend in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, October 4. She was seen visiting several different stores and in between times also took time posing for photographs for approaching fans. Pictures of her shopping in L.A. can be seen on Gossip Girls.

That’s Right. Birthday Boy Nick Jonas Gets a New Best Friend

Nick Jonas has a new best friend: a golden retriever named Elvis.

The pup was a birthday gift from his family, according to the band’s rep. The youngest member of the Jonas Brothers band, who turned 16 on Tuesday, named the pup for two of his favorite musicians, Elvis Costello and Elvis Presley.

Though the band has been busy working on its upcoming film, Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Movie (which will open Feb. 22, 2009), Nick still made time for Elvis on Tuesday, taking him for a walk around his L.A. neighborhood.

Nick Jonas Fans Can Breathe Easy, Selena Gomez did NOT NOT NOT write a Song About Nick Jonas

Disney star Selena Gomez is fed up with reports that her song “I’m Sorry” is about her rumored beau Nick Jonas.

“It’s definitely not about Nick Jonas,” Gomez, 16, told PEOPLE Saturday. “It’s about someone back home in Texas. When I read it, I was like, ‘Oh no this gossip has to go away!’ I haven’t known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I’ve gotten really close with all of them.”

The actress, in New York promoting the second season of her hit Disney show the Wizards of Waverly Place, says she’s just started work on her album and is excited to share the experience with fans.

“This year I’m finally in the process of starting an album. It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and I also want to take my fans through that journey so I’ll definitely do a whole behind the scenes thing,” she said.

Also in the works, a possible tour with Princess Protection Program costar and best friend Demi Lovato.

Despite a packed schedule, she still makes time to catch her favorite TV show Gossip Girl. “I absolutely love it,” said Gomez, who got to meet the cast at last month’s Teen Choice Awards. “I think the whole cast knows that I like their show. They all looked as a group and waved and smiled at me. I almost had a heart attack!”

Gomez is particularly fond of Gossip Girl’s resident bad boy, Chuck Bass, played by Ed Westwick. “He’s so good. Why? Because I’m Chuck Bass! I love that line,” she ad-libbed. When informed that the English born Westwick also sang lead in punk band The Filthy Youth, Gomez replied. “You just bumped up his hot meter!”
