THE MANUFACTURING OF JON & KATE GOSSELIN

Kate Gosselin of “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ fame, has been looking for a job. And it wasn’t until this week that she found one. Despite being on the cover of People magazine last week, showing off her new hair extensions that cost $7.000.

Gossip alert! juicy details about the $7000 hairdo…

According to Ted Gibson, stylist to the stars who’s clients include Angelina Jolie, the haircut was $950. The Color was $500. The Extentions cost an additional $5000. And the total time took 20 hours in all.

Kate finally ended her run on the TLC show on November 24.  It began with shots of the infamous sign Jon posted on the gate of his house warning TLC film crews and production staff to stay away, ending a two year journey to have his family and his 8 kids be filmed by TLC film crews. Essentially, Jon thought that having the cameras around was only destroying their marriage. A rough marriage that involved a lot of public feuding between Jon & Kate. The couple finally reached an agreement  on the divorce arbitration, both sides being satisfied. That happened on November 23. The divorce was finalized a month later.

Gossip alert! Here’s how much the Gosselins were earning on the show.

Kate made just $2000 per episode back when the show began, while the children didn’t make anything causing uproar over child labor laws.TLC was accused of trying to circumvent the law. But by the end of the show, both Jon & Kate were making $75,000 per episode.  Did they deserve that much money?

The media was fascinated by Jon & Kate Gosselin. A typical day for Kate could include a one on one sit down interview with a Today Show anchor where no topics were off limits. Or a visit to Jay Leno to film a skit for the opening of The Tonight Show.  The tabloid attention cost her sleep, and she has said at one point that she didn’t know what was real anymore. “I am awake in the middle of the night thinking, ‘Am I making the best decision?’ she told the Today Show. The allegations she defended herself against ranged from an affair with her bodyguard Steve Neild to rumors that she beat her children. A photo of her spanking one of her children was shipped across supermarkets and stuffed into hundreds of thousands of mailboxes on a best selling In Touch weekly cover. Besides the rumors, there was the ensuing public feud –

Gossip Alert! Kate accused Jon of stealing from their joint bank account…

in which Kate accused Jon of removing 180,000 from their joint bank account, leaving her with not enough money to pay the bills. On Oct 26, a judge ordered Jon to return the money. Jon never made the deadline, Kate says, he had only returned 28,500 by the time the deadline had arrived. another 151,500 was owed to her.

10.6 million viewers tuned in for the announcement of their divorce which came ten days after their tenth wedding anniversary. They made the announcement on their show.

If it had been one year ago, no one would have belive Jon & Kate would be such cover worthy subject. The industry said the two of them sold ‘Brangelina levels’ of magazines. That’s a lot. 1.8 million people bought the issue of Jon Gosselin on the cover of People opening up about the crisis consuming his marriage.  A Jon Gosselin issue sold more than President Obama’s inauguration cover for People magazine. ET – Is Jon and Kate Gosselin’s “War of the Roses” over? Only ET interviewed both sides after they met face to face in Pennsylvania on Saturday — and apparently reached an agreement, in principal, on the terms of their divorce arbitration. Plus, we break news about Jon’s love pledge to Kate!

ET special correspondent Diane Dimond reports that after the feuding ex-couple met with an arbitrator for about five hours, both sides emerged to say they’d reached an agreement.

Dimond says the arbitrator will commit Jon and Kate’s agreement points, along with his own recommendations, to a document. Lawyers expect to receive the document in approximately 30 days, and both sides have agreed to abide by whatever the arbitrator rules.

Dimond says that after the meeting ended, Kate declined to comment, but Jon said he’d written his estranged wife a note indicating that he loves their children, that a part of him will always love her, and he will never let any harm come to her.

Earlier, Jon arrived to the meeting with an apparent peace offering for Kate: a bouquet of roses. However, Dimond says that Kate left the meeting without the flowers.

A source called the roses another Jon Gosselin publicity stunt.

In hindsight – It seems like Jon Gosselin had good foresight – saw that the show would come to an end (the finale is tonight), and tried to bolster his celeb during his final 15 minuts as much as he could – so that he may have some kind of career after the show ended….

Gosselin Court Hearing in Norristown Pennsylvania
Jon Gosselin has said he plans to countersue TLC for $5 million, according to RadarOnline.com.

The Berks County dad is taking the offensive by filing his own lawsuit against TLC which produces “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” since TLC is suing him for breach of contract. Jon will have to testify at a preliminary injunction hearing in Maryland court on December 14.

TLC is represented by Washington, D.C. law firm Williams & Connolly, regarded as one of the best law firms in the country and which has a reputation leaving opponents with no secrets left by the time the discovery process is over, RadarOnline.com reported.

TLC’s lawsuit alleges that Jon has been paid to appear on other TV shows that compete with “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which is prohibited by his exclusive contract with TLC. Jon also has prevented the network from filming his children, saying he thinks the show has become harmful to them.

Jon has argued that TLC is preventing him from earning a living with a contract that is too restrictive. But in its court filing, TLC says it offered to keep paying Jon even after it changed the show from “Jon & Kate Plus 8” to “Kate Plus 8.” It also says he is free to go back to his former job in Information Technology.

Jon also may be facing a big bill for all this litigation. The website estimated the bill could reach the high six figures and beyond if it drags on.
