Janet Jackson Attends Dance at the Grove!

- Pop star Janet Jackson holds Michael Jackson’s personal doctor responsible for her brother’s sudden death and has told ABC News that a day does not go by when she doesn’t think about her late sibling.

“He was the one that was administering,” Janet Jackson said about Houston-based physician Dr. Conrad Murray. “I think he is responsible.”

Murray, who was hired to treat Michael Jackson in the months before Jackson died on June 25 of a drug overdose, is currently a target in the manslaughter investigation of the “Thriller” singer’s death.

Since June, Los Angeles County coroner officials have said the powerful anesthetic propofol, which is used in surgery, and the sedative lorazepam, were the primary drugs responsible for Jackson’s death. Police have referred the case to prosecutors to determine if criminal charges should be filed.

amfAR's Inaugural Milan Fashion Week Event - Arrivals

Janet Jackson spent nearly 50K up front to Forest Lawn Cemetery for her brother Michael’s funeral. TMZ.com reports Janet signed the “initial contract” with Forest Lawn for their mortuary services — to the tune of more than 103K. She paid nearly 50k of that up front. But ultimately she won’t be bearing the financial burden for the funeral. The special administrators of Michael’s will have permission to reimburse Janet for the money she has already spent, and cover the rest of the balance.
The total funeral costs at Forest Lawn come to 855,730.31-cents, so Janet’s portion of the bill is actually just a small chunk. The most expensive part of the funeral was the internment, which cost 590k. Other major expenses included private security, renting fans, the lighting, and the baby grand piano, which combined total over 175k. The Jacksons are also paying the Glendale Police Department, which charged more than 175k for their support. There were also other less expensive items like the casket coach and flower van, which only cost a few hundred.

Jackson Funeral Expense List:

Glendale PD / city support – $175k-
Internment – $590K-
Mausoleum upkeep – $88,500-dollars
Casket coach – $295-dollars
Flower van – $125-dollars
Private security, baby grand piano, lighting, rented fans – $176k-
Framed Michael Jackson photo set next to casket – $3k
Jackson family wardrobe – one-thousand-975.50

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri leave the Waverly Inn
PEOPLE – Though the status of their relationship is often a seesaw-ride of “are-they-or-aren’t-they,” Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri are indeed together, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The couple were rumored to be broken up around the time of Michael Jackson’s death when Dupri did not attend the funeral services. Jackson herself fueled rumors when she told Harper’s Bazaar that she was single.

“They never really broke up,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Jermaine wanted to give her some space when Michael died.”

In fact, the blog world says the two are so happy that they are planning a wedding. And with whispers of possible nuptials reaching fever pitch, Dupri doesn’t exactly deny the rumors, but he does say he’s heard them plenty of times before.

AMFAR BENEFIT 9-28-2009
BBC – Singer Janet Jackson is to give her first full-length television interview since the death of her brother Michael, US network ABC has announced.

The star will allow cameras into her California home for the first time, the broadcaster added.

The interview, which has yet to be recorded, will be conducted by ABC News host Robin Roberts and screened in the US on 18 November.

Jackson made a public tribute to her brother at September’s MTV Awards.

‘So much fun’

She performed Scream, which was originally a duet with Michael, at the New York event.

The 43-year-old talked about her late older brother in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine in September, the first time she had spoken at length about his death.

In that interview, she said she had “so much fun” with him on the last day they spent together, six weeks before his death on 25 June.

She’s gotta lose that rediculous costume!

AP – WASHINGTON — Janet Jackson took the stage to exploding fireworks, clouds of smoke and the sounds of some early hits Wednesday in her first concert since she was sidelined for two weeks by a bout of vertigo.

Sporting a huge mohawk and light-colored body suit, the Grammy-winning performer opened with “Pleasure Principle,” followed by “What Have You Done for Me Lately” from her 1986 album “Control.” Soon after, she sang her latest single, “Feedback.” “It feels so good to be back after being down just a little bit,” Jackson told the crowd at the less-than-full Verizon Center. The two-hour, high-energy show went smoothly, but Jackson did appear winded at times. At one point, she paused to admire her backup dancers, and the audience roared with approval.

“She was perfect. If she was sick, she’s not sick anymore,” said Maurice Bell, 28, of Washington. “She can still do it at 42.” At the end of the show, a teary-eyed Jackson told the crowd: “I love you D.C. so much.” Jackson’s publicist said Wednesday she has been suffering from migraine-associated vertigo, which led to her canceling a string of shows. She is being treated for the illness, which is characterized by dizziness, imbalance and other symptoms. “She’s a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to give her fans the show they expect,” Jackson’s manager, Kenneth Crear, said in a release. “She’s feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour.”

Crear said Jackson is feeling better and ready to continue her first North American tour in seven years. Upcoming stops include Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, New York and East Rutherford, N.J.

Janet Jackson to return to stage tonight in D.C., says management…

by Mark Park October 15, 2008 janet jackson

Janet Jackson is ready to get this show on the road. For real. Supposedly.

According to her manager, the veteran pop star will be returning to her Rock Witchu tour Wednesday night at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., after being forced to postpone nine shows while she struggled with a previously undisclosed illness.

“After a thorough medical evaluation, it has been confirmed that Janet’s symptoms are being caused by a rare form of migraine called vestibular migraine or migraine-associated vertigo for which she is currently receiving treatment,” read a statement released by Jackson’s camp and obtained by E! News.

The “Together Again” singer has not performed since falling ill Sept. 29 during a sound check before a show in Montreal.

“Janet wanted very much to resume her tour so as not to disappoint her fans, but she continued to suffer from vertigo and could not perform,” her manager, Kenneth Crear, said.

“She’s a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to give her fans the show they expect. She’s feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour.”

Shows scrapped in Montreal, Philadelphia, Boston, Greensboro, N.C., Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Uncasville, Conn., Verona, N.Y., and Manhattan are being rescheduled. Disgruntled ticket holders have been asked to hang onto their stubs, which will be honored at the rescheduled dates.

Janet Jackson is Getting into the Lingerie Biz

by Mark Park August 21, 2008 janet jackson

Janet Jackson is getting into the “undies” business.

The singer — one of Us Weekly’s weight winners — has partnered with Australian fashion designer Bruno Schiav to launch a line of lingerie called Pleasure Principle. (Her 1987 tune, “Pleasure Principle,” inspired the name.)

The under $40 collection — featuring Chantilly lace and satin and rich colors like burgundy — offers various bra styles (demi cups to full coverage), with sizes from 32A to 44G.

“There’s something for every woman, and that’s very important to us,” Jackson said at a press conference. “I’ve always hated when lingerie is uncomfortable, so the fit and comfort was key.”

The singer says she was hands-on during designing — sometimes working until 4 a.m.

Said Jackson, “People have come to me with other ideas, but lingerie is a passion for me, and just like music and acting, I can’t do it unless I put 100% into it.”

Her line hits mass retailers in November.

CBS CLEARED in Janet Jackson Super Bowl “Nipplegate” Accident

by Mark Park July 22, 2008 Justin Timberlake

The long-running legal saga involving the escape of Janet Jackson’s right breast during the halftime show of the 2004 Super Bowl has apparently come to an end as a federal appeals court today tossed out the $550,000 indecency fine against CBS Corp.

In its ruling, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the Federal Communications Commission “acted arbitrarily and capriciously” when it issued the pricey penalty against the network for the boob slippage.

For those who’ve enjoyed the underside of their rock for the past four years, the brouhaha began when 90 million viewer were treated to a glance of the “Nasty” singer’s goods during a duet with Justin Timberlake.

While crooning, “Gonna have you naked by the end of this song,” Timberlake yanked off Jackson’s bustier, revealing her strategically placed nipple shield in what became a made-for-TiVo moment.

The move upset several conservative watchdogs, including the powerful Parents Television Council, which lobbied the FCC and demanded a big fine—even though broadcaster CBS, Jackson and Timberlake said the incident was accidental, with Timberlake famously referring to it as a “wardrobe malfunction.”
