JESSICA SIMPSON CELEBRATES 150 YEARS OF MACY’S…IN HER BEDDING

It’s sad when a muppet is dressed better than an actual human being. Jessica Simpson showed up to the Macy’s 150th Anniversary party last night and it looks like she was specifically modeling some new items from the homewears department. I’m not sure if that’s actually a vest or a chopped up down comforter with a fur collar sewn onto it.
People/puppets who did get it right were Eva Mendes looking sexy as usual in a red satin dress and Big Bird who kept it formal in a bow tie and cuff links. (His friend Elmo, btw, wore nothing at all…pretty ballsy move for an event of this caliber).

Eva Mendes says she’s “so excited” to be the face of Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession fragrance and their underwear, Seductive Comfort. After seeing her naked on billboards, the male population got pretty excited too! Eva, 34, spoke to OK! about getting into shape for the ads and why she loves her boyfriend.

What do you love that your fans might not know about?
“My secret obsession is love. I love “love!” I love being in love, and I love having
someone be in love with me. Love is the sexiest thing in the world.”
Tell us about your home decor line.
“My boyfriend and business partner, George Augusto, and I created Vida. We’re
starting off with affordable, bold, romantic bedding. We hope people love it as much
as we do.”
Do you like to do something other than acting once in a while?
“I’m so happy to be in a place in my career where I can branch out and pursue other things that I feel passionate about.”
What are your beauty tips?
“It’s obvious but important: water, water, water! Staying hydrated is the best thing
one can do for their skin. I’m also big on moisturizing. I love to cake on heavy face
cream. Cocoa butter has saved my dry skin many a time!”
How did you prep yourself for the Calvin Klein shoot? (See Mendes, Calvin Klein Underwear)
“All I did differently was increase my cardio for two weeks because I wanted
these images to look like my real, healthy body. I didn’t want to show up looking
like the skinny version of me. I wanted the real version of me up there.”

The We Own The Night beauty has made a name for herself in Hollywood with roles in box office blockbusters like Training Day, Ghost Rider, and Hitch, while Lopez has carved out a career in music, acting and fashion. However Mendes hates being pitted against Lopez when people talk about successful Latinas – because she claims she’s more attentive and dedicated to her chosen profession. She says, “I would like to think I will have a more serious career than J.Lo. We may both be of Latin origin but that’s where the comparisons stop. She manages her career like the head of a big corporation, whereas the only thing I care about is becoming the best actress possible.”

From the Daily News – A Calvin Klein perfume ad featuring actress Eva Mendes has been banned by U.S. networks for its racy content.
Daily News – The “We Own the Night” star caresses herself, rolls around in a rumpled bed and – oops! – flashes a nipple in the 30-second TV spot for Secret Obsession. “Between love and madness lies obsession,” Mendes, 34, whispers huskily in the commercial. “Love … madness. It’s my secret.” The ban “is not entirely a surprise for the U.S. market,” Tom Murry, president and chief operating officer of Calvin Klein, Inc., said in a statement to the Daily News. “We believe the commercial is exceptional and hits the mark for Secret Obsession. …We are anticipating a very successful global launch.” The attention surrounding the ad “just reinforces our belief in the campaign, which has really struck a chord with consumers and in true Calvin Klein fashion, sparks controversy,” said Catherine Walsh, vice president of American Fragrances, Coty Prestige, which produces the perfume. NY Daily News – The sizzling “Ghost Rider” star is the new face of Calvin Klein Underwear. Mendes, 34, dons a plethora of designer skivvies in sultry new ads for the brand’s Seductive Comfort bras.
Mendes’ new photos, which were shot in early March by renowned photographer Steven Meisel, will pop up around the world – including several outdoor locations in New York.
The sexy ads mark a comeback of sorts for the actress, who checked into Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehab facility in January to treat “personal issues.”
“Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support,” her rep said in a statement earlier this year.
Her last major film was 2007’s “We Own the Night,” but the actress has been hard at work since leaving rehab. Mendes is scheduled to appear next in the drama, “The Women” – and on billboards near you … in her underwear.

Eva Mendes had just finished filming Training Day and felt the need to carry a knife for safety reasons. The crime drama featured Eva nude and received a large amount of attention. She told Interview Magazine that at the time carrying the blade made her feel empowered. Upon reflection after seven years since her nude scene in the film, she now feels “stupid” for carrying it.
That was my controversial stage where I’d just started acting. I went through my little Angelina Jolie phase, like I was really tough. I had just come out in Training Day and I was nude in it, so I was getting a certain kind of attention.
During her “Angelina Jolie” phase and carrying weaponry she also packed alternative protection. The knife was a last resort in case of an emergency.
And I did carry a little blade. My God, with obviously no intention to ever use it. I had Mace as well. But the blade sounded cooler in interviews. I was young and stupid.
Mendes has also been featured in Jack Magazine. Again, she will be featured naked. She is no stranger to being in the buff. Her spread in Italian Vogue was beyond risqué. The spread included photos of her topless and sporting several different bouffant hairstyles. At one point she was sucking on her own toes. PETA also employed her for their “I rather go naked than wear fur” campaign in which she was once again without clothing.
I too carry protection. Completely different kind, but at least I can make balloon animals with mine.
