Hough joked with host Brooke Burke about the bruise, saying, “She found out you were coming on the show and got jealous.”…
Burke and Hough won the dance competition during its seventh season.

Shannen Doherty explains why she’s joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars after years of declining the show.
She says she was finally inspired by her father after he suffered from a stroke.
“He lost his speech, he wasn’t mobile. He was really struggling, and still it. When i mentioned this to him, he got really excited and he wanted me to do it. I thought, if my dad can fight through having a stroke and the loss of being able to communicate, I think I can do this for him. So I figured I’m going to get over my fear for him. I’m going to get in great shape, and everyone who I know who’s been on the show has had a great time. It’s with hesitation and fear, but it’s going to be good to conquer the fear.”
Doherty joins a bunch of stars including Kate Gosselin when the new season kicks off…

Hough says she is now focusing on her film career, which includes the upcoming “Footloose.” She says she still loves the show and may return the season after next.

OK Mag – Six months after steaming up the dance floor on Dancing with the Stars, country darlings Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks have broken up.
The aspiring singers reportedly bought a house together three months ago, but it wasn’t enough to keep them together.
“This was mutual,” a source says. “They both needed some time apart.”
It seemed like the pair were made for each other. “What’s been fun is that we never argued at all,” Julianne, 21, told E! News after they stepped off DWTS in sixth place.
“We’ve had a little tiff here and there, but about dance movements. It was fun. We had this passion. It was fun for us because we never argued.”
But, the pair have to face each other at tomorrow’s Country Music Association Awards where Julianne is scheduled to present and Chuck, 30, is working the red carpet for Entertainment Tonight.

TV Guide – Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart and Tom DeLay are among the 16 new celebrities who will hit the parquet on Season 9 of Dancing with the Stars in the show’s largest cast ever.Making the announcement on Good Morning America, host Tom Bergeron revealed the 16 stars and a twist: In the middle of the season, there will be three double eliminations back to back.In addition, four new dances will be introduced: the Bolero, the Charleston, the Two Step and the Lambada.

The cast of Dancing With the Stars just got a whole lot stronger. How strong? Sources tell Life & Style that former Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno is set to star in the upcoming season of the popular ABC series. Lou, who was training Michael Jackson for his comeback concerts until the singer died on June 25, had previously tried out for the show in 2007.
Lou tells Life & Style that while he hasn’t yet signed the contract, he can’t wait to start training for the show.”I had a good meeting with the producers for Dancing With the Stars, it was really positive, and they loved the idea of having me on the show,” Lou says.Though Lou is known for being a great athlete, dancing isn’t exactly his forte. “I’ve never done that type of dancing before, so I know that I’ll have to train hard,” he says. “I’m a glutton for punishment, so I’ll give it my best shot.”
