We may be seeing a lot more X-Men in theaters…Bryan Singer (Who hails from my hometown, and actually gave a talk at the local library about his X-Men movies) is saying he wants to continue the franchise…He said recently, “I’m still looking to possibly returning to the ‘X-Men’ franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it.” He added, “I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast.” Singer, who made X-Men and X2: X-Men United, but passed on the third installment
Speaking of my hometown, did you know its also the fictional setting of the FOX medical drama HOUSE? (And if you have been reading this blog, you’ve seen the dozens of photos and footage of Director Michael Bay and his crew filming in my hometown…)

Its rare for movies to pull in ’summer- box office sized’ opening weekends during the fall. Nevertheless, Zombieland defied the odds. The Michael Cera Woody Harrelson film racked up a more than satisfactory 25 million dollars, easily taking the top spot.
Zombieland takes the top spot at the box office with 25 million dollars. The undead came to life at the movie theaters. According to studio estimates on Sunday and fans feasted on the undead.

Meanwhile, Megan Fox and Jennifer Aniston may be number one when it comes to celebrity weeklies, but the two actresses did terribly at the box office. After just three weeks, Megan Fox’s Jennifer’s Body has fallen ccompletely out of the Top 10. Meanwhile Jennifer Aniston’s movie, Love Happens, barely clings onto the top 10, finishing at number 10 in its thids week in release.

OFFICE SUMMER EVER
Transformers 2 was the biggest grossing movie of the summer…
Variety – It’s not even Labor Day weekend yet, but 2009 has already become the highest-grossing summer ever at the domestic box office.
Through Sunday, summer B.O. revs were $4.17 billion, compared to $4.16 billion for summer 2007, the previous record holder for best summer sesh.
In June, The Hangover claimed the number one spot two weeks in a row
The Labor Day weekend should add another $100 million or more to the total tally, meaning the summer would be up at least 3% in grosses over 2007.

GI Joe smashed August records, at home and abroad…
Three tentpoles lead the pack of top domestic performers: Paramount’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” ($399.4 million), Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” ($294.3 million) and Disney/Pixar’s “Up” ($289.6 million).

The video game released by Atari is turning into a movie. Universal Pictures has snatched up the rights, and charged GI Joe Director Lorenzo Di Bonaventura with the task of bringing the arcade game to the silverscreen.
Will it be Blockbuster-ish like Armegeddon? Or made for tv movie-ish…

Rupert Grint Says Coming down with Swine Flu was like having a sore throat
Grint who who plays Harry Potter’s friend Ron Weasley has been laying low after coming down with Swine Flu, but it reportedly wasn’t a big deal.
“I did have swine flu, but it was just like any other flu I’ve had before,” he said.”It was just a sore throat and I was in bed for a while, but it was quite scary when I was first told I had swine flu because of what’s been in the press.”
He joked: “I was like ‘am I going to die?’, but it was fine – just a sore throat.”
The latest Potter film, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, has its world premiere in London’s Leicester Square tomorrow…
