XMEN PREMIERE ON ELLIS ISLAND

Bryan Singer with X-Men Comic Creator Stan Lee at the X-Men Premiere

We may be seeing a lot more X-Men in theaters…Bryan Singer (Who hails from my hometown, and actually gave a talk at the local library about his X-Men movies) is saying he wants to continue the franchise…He said recently, “I’m still looking to possibly returning to the ‘X-Men’ franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it.” He added, “I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast.” Singer, who made X-Men and X2: X-Men United, but passed on the third installment

Speaking of my hometown, did you know its also the fictional setting of the FOX medical drama HOUSE? (And if you have been reading this blog, you’ve seen the dozens of photos and footage of Director Michael Bay and his crew filming in my hometown…)

Its rare for movies to pull in ’summer- box office sized’ opening weekends during the fall. Nevertheless, Zombieland defied the odds. The Michael Cera Woody Harrelson film racked up a more than satisfactory 25 million dollars, easily taking the top spot.

Zombieland takes the top spot at the box office with 25 million dollars. The undead came to life at the movie theaters. According to studio estimates on Sunday and fans feasted on the undead.

1. Zombieland

$25,000,000

2. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs

$16,700,000

3. Toy Story / Toy Story 2

$12,500,000

4. Invention Of Lying, The

$7,350,000

5. Surrogates

$7,344,000

Meanwhile, Megan Fox and Jennifer Aniston may be number one when it comes to celebrity weeklies, but the two actresses did terribly at the box office. After just three weeks, Megan Fox’s Jennifer’s Body has fallen ccompletely out of the Top 10. Meanwhile Jennifer Aniston’s movie, Love Happens, barely clings onto the top 10, finishing at number 10 in its thids week in release.
