This year’s People’s Choice Awards nominees include a diverse group of musicians from rapper Eminem to breakout classical singing sensation Susan Boyle. Em was nominated for Male Artist along with Jason Mraz. Boyle was one of the nominees for Breakout Music Artist along with “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert, Demi Lovato, “American Idol” winner Kris Allen, and Lady Gaga. The diversity of the nominees can be seen in the Music Collaboration category, where nominees include Cobra Starship with Leighton Meester for “Good Girls Go Bad,” T.I. with Rihanna for “Live Your Life,” and “Run This Town” featuring Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West.
The nominees for Pop Artist are mostly female singers — save for the Black Eyed Peas. The rest of the Pop Artist nominees include Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift. The People’s Choice Awards air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on January 6th, 2010.
