Many of Lindsay Lohan’s friends and business associates have been deeply concerned about the once-hot actress’ continuing downward spiral — fueled by heavy drinking and less-public but widely-reported drug use.
A longtime friend of Lohan’s says yet another attempt at convincing LiLo to return to rehab happened this past weekend.
Lindsay Lohan allegedly walked out of a recent intervention by friends concerned about her party habits.‘‘The only problem was, she saw David Trent [a close friend of her despised father] and immediately bolted,’’ said the partygoer.
The mini-drama took place at the West Hollywood home of shipping heir Stavros Niarchos in the wee hours of Friday — a bash Paris Hilton and her sister, Nicky, also attended. While the Hilton sisters socialized briefly with Lohan, they were not involved in any way in the attempted intervention, taking place in another part of the Niarchos house.
As several friends tried to get Lohan alone in a private area, she quickly departed — at nearly 7 a.m. — after spotting Trent, said the source.
Though Lohan spent nearly five hours partying at Niarchos’, ‘‘She kept moving from room to room. … She was clearly hyped-up on more than just booze. It was impossible to corner her, until a few people tried to — in a bathroom when it was nearly dawn,’’ added the deeply concerned pal.
• Reportedly, Lohan’s former longtime girlfriend Samantha Ronson has tried to talk the actress into getting help with her addictions, as did Courtney Semel, who recently left rehab and attempted to talk to Lohan about getting help herself, at a Hollywood party, earlier in the week.
Meanwhile, a suspected member of a burglary ring that stole cash, jewelry and clothing from celebrities’ homes — including Lohan’s — pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles today.
Alexis Neirs, 18, is one of five people charged with felony burglary for an alleged spree that began last fall, targeting the homes of Lohan, Hilton and others.
