Jon Gosselin has said he plans to countersue TLC for $5 million, according to RadarOnline.com.
The Berks County dad is taking the offensive by filing his own lawsuit against TLC which produces “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” since TLC is suing him for breach of contract. Jon will have to testify at a preliminary injunction hearing in Maryland court on December 14.
TLC is represented by Washington, D.C. law firm Williams & Connolly, regarded as one of the best law firms in the country and which has a reputation leaving opponents with no secrets left by the time the discovery process is over, RadarOnline.com reported.
TLC’s lawsuit alleges that Jon has been paid to appear on other TV shows that compete with “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which is prohibited by his exclusive contract with TLC. Jon also has prevented the network from filming his children, saying he thinks the show has become harmful to them.
Jon has argued that TLC is preventing him from earning a living with a contract that is too restrictive. But in its court filing, TLC says it offered to keep paying Jon even after it changed the show from “Jon & Kate Plus 8” to “Kate Plus 8.” It also says he is free to go back to his former job in Information Technology.
Jon also may be facing a big bill for all this litigation. The website estimated the bill could reach the high six figures and beyond if it drags on.
