It appears the rift between Oscar-winning father and daughter Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie is over. In the new issue of “Us Weekly,” Voight tells the magazine that he and Jolie are back in touch and on speaking terms, though not “regularly.” Jolie reportedly stopped speaking to her dad in 2001 after he made a tearful televised plea for her to seek help for her, quote, “serious mental problems.” But that’s all water under bridge now, as far as Voight is concerned. The 70-year-old actor tells “Us Weekly,” quote, “We love each other and that’s the most important thing.” A family friend says it was Jolie who initiated the reconciliation. The unnamed source added that Jolie’s partner, actor Brad Pitt, quote, “has been supportive” and a “key factor in her reaching out.”
