Obama Shirtless Named Most Viral Story of the Year…

I agree with the top three stories on this list of most viral stories in 2008. Barack Obama shirtless appeared on pretty much every gossip, political blog and news outlet at the same time (I even made a collage at the time…) However… I didn’t see a trace of Britney Spears on the list, and pretty much everything she says or does (or wears) goes viral instantly….And if you really want to nitpick, I think The Bush Shoe throwing incident could’ve also fit at the number four spot…

1. Obama Shirtless

Obviously Obama’s victory was an inspirational moment in American history. But history can’t compete with the web frenzy that ensued each time Obama was photographed shirtless!

2. Miley Cyrus Half Naked

Obama was not the only one taking off his top in 2008. This was the year that Miley Cyrus replaced Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears at the web’s favorite underaged, half-naked celebrity pop star.
