My sister and I disagree on this. She thinks Katie wasn’t offered the role because of that bad press from her marriage. I think Katie turned it down because she couldn’t think clearly at the time.

That comedy bombed at the box office, while The Dark Knight—with Maggie Gyllenhaal, 30, in Katie’s role—is one of the highest-grossing films ever. Katie, 29, won’t have another chance to play Rachel, since that character was killed off in the film.
