BUMMER, I was a huge Blake Lewis FAN!
Earlier this year, “The Insider” reported that former “American Idol” winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard had been dropped by their record labels. Today, we have confirmed that season six runner-up Blake Lewis has joined the unfortunate two and has been dropped by Arista Records.
The label issued the following statement to “The Insider”: “Arista Records will not be picking up Blake’s option and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
That said, the beat boxer is still on the roster with Simon Fuller’s 19 Recordings.
Blake first broke the news in an audio interview on MJ’s big blog.
Blake’s debut album, Audio Day Dream, which to date has sold 300,000 units, has yet to go gold, which may have weighed into the label’s decision.

For some reason it seems like the winners of american idol aren’t doing that good. I wonder why? I mean some idols are still doing very well like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, but other idols aren’t do it, I wonder why.
